"I had the pleasure of working with Jack on the restoration of the Old Granary building in Buitenkant Street in Cape Town.

This heritage building, built in circa 1812 was in a bad state of decay and required a substantial refurbishment to save it from collapse and bring it back to life.

Jack, as Project Manager, was responsible for managing the professional team during the design and as implementation phase as well as the construction team during the construction phase.

The project required an understanding of multiple skills and disciplines in the heritage refurbishment space.

I found Jack, who has a history of working on heritage projects, to be extremely professional with a high level of attention to detail and patience, which is required when bringing an old historic building like this one, back to life. The outcome is plain to see with this asset now taking pride of place in the City’s Strategic Asset Portfolio and housing the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
